Maga-what?

Is the fashion magazine industry being swallowed by digital media? With plentiful fashion blogs out there, who keep fashion fanatic readers updated on a daily basis (or hourly lol), are magazines losing their touch? By the time a magazine hits the shelves, is the content already old news? Well, not really news in the case of Vogue and co., but readers who buy magazines do so in anticipation of getting a glimpse of whats new for the month and season. However, with the ever so booming world of fashion blogs, will magazines be a thing of the past?

Personally, I noticed that in the last couple of months, I looked less forward to magazines than I used to. Once upon a time, I used to pass by to get magazines every Monday and Thursday, religiously!

The recession is not helping either. How many of you noticed the the December issue of Vogue does not live up to its regular standards? Many magazines were forced to cut down atleast 10% of their pages to keep up with current economic woos. So sad!

to magazines staying around forever!

Hippie glam.

"When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more"

Just when you thought you're all set for fall, from cashmere cardigans to the perfect coat to fabulous scarves, comes along a special something that will knock your socks off ;p but you better put them back on while trying Louboutin's Forever Tina fringe boots, "the" statement piece of the season! Im telling you, it's the one. It made my heart flip and set the butterflies in my tummy free. They are love molded into the form of boots that sway ever so chicly with every step you take. Lol I know eshda3wa thats way too much drrrramaaa but you know what I mean ;p you have to check them out! An instant boost to any bland outfit - not that you wear that anyway ;)

Make a statement...

...with your winter coat!

A fabulous coat is a great investment, tres versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. Finding the perfect coat may take time and hunting efforts but is totally worth it ;p Keep in mind the many shapes to consider for fall whilst shopping, and choose what suits your outfits and outings best. Keep an eye for cocoon, defined, seamed, and loose cut coats.

Cocoon coats are perfect for layering. Wear over a fitted outfit to balance it out. Opt for skinnies and a well fitted top.

Defined coats are belted, defining the waist. A trench coat falls under the defined category. It is usually considered as rain gear because of its nylon material.

Seamed coats, also known as pea coats, are buttoned and seamed above the waist. The shape of this coat falls under the statement category and is considered practical for every day use at the same time.

Loose, undefined coats are the perfect cover up for a fitted dress paired with opaque tights.

Other fabulous details on coats are bell sleeves, tiered voluminous layers, skinny sleeves, A-line shapes.

take your pick ;p

The One Hundred.

Nina Garcia's new book, The One Hundred, is a "guide to the pieces every woman must own". Its a really colorful illustrative book with the cutest sketches and pointers. It's a quick fun read but won't really tell you anything you don't know ;p

Here are a few of my favorite picks:

What are your staple items? The items you believe you must own?
